NASS owes us N1.3bn Duty Travel Allowance — Governmental Associate

An administrative helper has said that the National Assembly owes them Duty Travel Allowance adding up to N1.3bn.

Talking on state of secrecy, the helper told NAN, "We have been owed since 2015 and the administration educated us that the remittance was not caught in the 2016 spending plan.

"With this advancement, we know about what is appropriated for administrative helpers in the 2017 spending plan; we are presently certain the cash is there and there will be no space for reasons any longer.

"The DTA for an individual is N75,000 and around 3,000 helpers are being owed."

The 2017 spending plan gives N9.6bn to authoritative assistants, the Senate Public Accounts Committee takes N118.9m and that of Reps N142.7m.
