Senate set to reevaluate Zamfara REC chosen one

Nigeria Senate on Tuesday moved to reevaluate Mr. Ahmad Mahmud who was dismissed a week ago as Occupant Appointive Magistrate from Zamfara State because of contradicting voices of two Congresspersons from Zamfara state.


The choices took after request by Representative Kabiru Mafara who went under Request 42 and 53 clarifying that the matter of indegeneship which framed the premise of dismissal has been settled.

"Mr. President, Recognized Associates, I need to go under Request 42 and 53 to tell my partners that REC chosen one from Zamfara has been affirmed that he hails from the state."

"He was conceived and raised in Gusau, he educated in Anka in Zamfara State. He was one time Lawyer General and Magistrate for Equity of Zamfara State. What else can make one an indegene of a state?"

"I need to beg my partners to permit me expedite the issue as a movement Wednesday with the goal that he can be considered', he included.

In a voice votes, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu who directed Tuesday's entire decided that the movement be faced off regarding tomorrow.

Then, three chosen people from Lagos, Dr. Rufus Akeji, Kebbi, Dr. Mahmud Isah and Zamfara, Ahmad Mahmud endured dismissal before in the year.

Those of Lagos and Kebbi States were affirmed a week ago, leaving Zamfara that didn't get endorsement of Legislators Kabiru Mafara (Zamfara Focal) and Ahmed Sani Yerima (Zamfara West ) with exception  Representative Tijjani Kaura.

Senate decides request that a chosen one might not be considered for arrangement if two of three Congresspersons from the State restricted their affirmation.
