At a routine press conference held by the Foreign Ministry on November 17, a reporter asked: U.S. Assistant Secretary of Department for Defense Asia-Pacific Xue Ruifu said in testimony prepared for the hearing of the U.S. Senate Armed Forces on the 16th that the United States has its own "one China "Policy, and the exchange of visits by U.S.-Taiwan military ships completely conforms to the one-China policy of the United States. Spokesman Geng Shuang said: We have noticed the report. China has always firmly opposed any attempt by the United States and Taiwan to carry out any form of official contacts and military ties.
