At least 50 people were killed after a US-Bangla Airlines plane crashed at Nepal's
Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday, Reuters reported citing an army spokesperson.Around 67 people were thought to be on board, an airport official said, adding that 17 people on board had been rescued.
A Chinese passenger named Zhang Ming, an employee of China's SANY Group, was on the passenger list. The Chinese embassy in Nepal has yet to confirm whether he was on board the plane.
The plane can reportedly carry 78 passengers, local media reported.
According to an airport spokesperson, the aircraft crashed during landing.
Firefighters were at the scene to extinguish a fire. Details of the incident are yet to be ascertained.
