Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have killed a pastor of the Nigerian Baptist Conference, recognized as Minister Deji Joshua in Okitipupa, the home office of Okitipupa Nearby Government Zone of Ondo State.
The deceased was the pastor in charged of the Goodnews Baptist Church, Igbegunrin in Ilaje/Apoi.
It was assembled that the deceased was slaughtered on his way to Ode Aye and his motorcycle taken away by the robbers.
A police source said the occurrence happened at in regards to 11.30pm yet the police command was yet to find out the genuine reason for the death of the clergy man.
When he contacted the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Charge, Mr. Femi Joseph affirmed the occurrence and said the order had initiated examination on the incident.
He stated, "When we caught wind of the incident, our men moved to the scene and we saw gun shot injuries on his body. We will lead a dissection to know the real reason for the demise."
In his response, the state administrator of the Christian Relationship of Nigeria, Revd. John Ayo Oladapo encouraged the security organizations in the state to angle out the enemies of the Baptist priest.
Oladapo, who is likewise a Baptist pastor stated, "We are disheartened by the incident and we are beseeching the police and other security agents to fish out the killers and convey them to book."
